I LOVE Christmas and everything involved with it….especially the decorating and baking. I always go a bit overboard considering it is just the Hubs and me, but it makes me so happy that I go for it every year anyway.
It has been at least 15 years ago that I started using gingerbread men as ornaments for my tree. Originally I needed ornaments for the tree and didn’t have a lot of money to spend on them so gingerbread men seemed like the perfect solution. For just a few bucks one batch of gingerbread makes 4-6 dozen ornaments and at the time that was all I could afford. Little did I know I would love them so much and get so many compliments on them that it would become a tradition I would carry on for so long!
I have been wanting new nightstands with more drawer space for quite some time. My old ones were super cute little night tables that I found at the Pottery Barn Outlet but they had just one teeny tiny drawer and I tend to hoard more junk than they could comfortably hold…..so more drawer space was needed!
Of course I went to Pinterest and it sent me to my very favorite super mega store….IKEA!!!!! Can you hear the angels singing???? I mean really….any excuse to make a trip to Ikea! (more…)

Gingham has long been favorite of mine, which is probably obvious from the number of times I have included it in my 30 Days of Fall Fashion Posts. With today being the last day of this series I figured why not sneak it in one more time. I love that it adds a bit of whimsy to just about any outfit……I don’t like being too stuffy or serious! So far I think I have done navy and pink, and today I am going with black. That pretty much wraps up all of the current options in my closet….wouldn’t red be too cute though….let the search begin!! It is safe to say that I am not southern or proper so the No White After Labor Day rule does not apply in my world. Thankfully, after taking a look around Pinterest it doesn’t apply to a great number of others as well. Now please understand, I have never been a big fan of white shoes during any season unless you are a bride or Minnie Mouse…they both totally rock some white shoes! White denim however, is a totally different story….I mean why not wear it all year round. Finding denim that fits well is no easy task and when you add in the white factor it complicates the issue exponentially! So I say once you find a beloved pair of white denim, the work should pay off and you should wear the heck out of them! To prove my point about white after Labor Day here are some of my Pinsperations….. (more…)
I cannot tell you how excited I was when these faux fur vests arrived. They were both even better than I dared to hope they would be. Here are my original Pinsperations to take the leap and try faux fur… (more…)
I thought we might just blow away completely today…crazy wind. Thankfully I had a few pics from the weekend because pics outside would not have worked out in all this wind!I knew I couldn’t do 30 days of fashion without including at least 1 dress. I shopped my closet again for this outfit. (more…)
