25 Days of Winter Fashion Day #3: Loft Sweater

Loft Sweater

It was only a matter of time until the kids came back to school and I would have to start dressing like a grown up again.  #nomorepajamas  Yesterday was the coldest day of the season so far and my classroom tends to be chilly so I needed to bundle up.  The knit of the sweater is a bit loose so I added a turtleneck for extra warmth.  The turtleneck is from Nordstrom but it is no longer available…sorry!!  These pics were taken after a full day at school followed by 2 basketball games….let’s just say I am not at my best.  #reallife  The tree is coming down this weekend….I promise!!! 25 Days of Winter Fashion Day#2: Casual and Comfy

Winter Break is over and yesterday I had to go back to work…..insert pouty face!  Luckily though, since the semester ended the last day before the break, the teachers had a work day yesterday without students.  Knowing that comfy casual clothes were waiting for me when the alarm went off at 5:30 AM made it a little easier to bare….but only a little!!  I picked up these shoes and this sweatshirt at the recommendation of another blogger and  they are both such great finds.  Anyway….so here is what I wore on my first day back yesterday… (more…)

25 Days of Winter Fashion Day #1: Poncho

25 Days of Winter Fashion

We are coming off of the warmest December in history for our area….but winter has certainly arrived now that January is here!  Time to bring on the layers!!  I love a poncho for layering.  The biggest differences between my Fall and Winter layering is the weight of the fabrics, the neckline and the length of the sleeves. I wore this poncho during my 30 Days of Fall Fashion… (more…)

2016 Resolutions…..No Thank You!!

Blessings Jar

Happy New Year all!  I hope you are reflecting on a great 2015 and looking forward to an even better 2016.  I have been one to make resolutions every year only to see them fall by the wayside leaving me feeling bad about myself.  If I want to feel bad about myself I can just go to the mall and stand in the 3-way mirror in any of the dressing rooms under that universally awful lighting…that usually does the trick!!   LOL  I feel like we almost set ourselves up for failure by making resolutions.  I mean, I know there are plenty of you that are probably New Years Resolutions Success Stories….People Magazine highlights several this time each year, and I congratulate each and every one of you for that.  Needless to say though, People Magazine is not likely to be calling me anytime soon for a Resolution Success Story interview!! Blue Apron

Blue Apron Review

For Christmas the Hubs and I received a box from Blue Apron from my Sister-In-Law and her family….what a fun idea!  She figured that since I am such of fan of the clothing subscription plans that I would probably like this too…she was so right!!!

The box arrived with literally everything I need to prepare 3 delicious meals.  In this case it was Salmon & Lemon Bucatini, Spiced Roast Chicken & Collard Greens, and Italian Meatball Soup.  It included all of the meat, dry ingredients, spices, produce and dairy.  In addition to all of the ingredients there is also a very details set on instructions….with pictures!!!  (more…)

Dia & Co. Review #1

You already know I am a fan of Stitch Fix but at times I have had trouble with fit.  I found Dia & Co. on Pinterest and it is the same idea as Stitch Fix but they specialize in larger sizes so I thought I would give them a try.  Most everything I wear is in standard sizes, but on occasion I can also wear smaller sizes in some plus size fits.  When I first signed up the initial process was much shorter than Stitch Fix.  That might seem like a good thing, but Stitch Fix was really thorough so they get a clear picture of what your style is.  I was a little nervous about my Dia & Co box because they didn’t ask very many questions about my style.  They did include a place for me to add my website though so my stylist was able to go see what I wear and I think that helped a lot.  She even mentioned a couple of things that she saw me wearing that would be good with some of the things she sent.  So….here is what she sent…. Stitch Fix Review

My latest Fix arrived almost 2 weeks ago but since I was in the middle of my 12 days of Christmas Decorations I held off on sharing it with you.  I loved almost everything in this Fix as much as the last one but fit was an issue for a couple of things…darn!  So here is what I received…… (more…)
