It’s time for another Throw Back Thursday project, this time it was the little facelift I gave the garage door.  Once again I must remind you that when I say “I” what I am really saying is “The Hubs” under my direction….must give credit where credit is due!!

This was the easiest and cheapest project and it has a great impact.  Even more than 2 years later, I still get compliments on it.  Our garage door started out as your standard boring, white, one car garage door….nothing special but nothing really wrong with it either.  Then I saw this Pinsperation and realized how much better it could be for next to nothing.

It didn’t take me long to head to Lowes in search of a kit for this makeover.  I think I paid about $20 for the kit I used.  I couldn’t find anything for $10 like the Pinsperation, but I still felt pretty good about $20.  I just went to the Lowe’s website and it looks like the cheapest one there is currently about $35….still not a bad deal for such an improvement in curb appeal.  The one I bought seemed like it was some sort of special deal.  I bet if you actually go to Lowe’s and wander around a bit you’ll find a cheaper set.

Once I had the kit, I gave The Hubs some general info on the approximate location for all of the pieces and parts and then I got out of his way and let him work his magic!  The whole thing took less than an hour and only required a drill and a screwdriver.

Here she is before….such a Plain Jane:

Here she is now…a Sassy Carriage Style Door:

This is project that I would have done even at twice the cost…..lots of impact for such a little bit of money!!!

Have a Great One All!

Patty  🙂
