Hi! Time for another Throw Back Thursday project. I did this one the same time I did the closet project from last week. This wall is in the kitchen and just on the other side of the closet wall. When we removed the phone line there was a hole in the wall, so what’s a girl to do? Well if you are me you go to Pinterest and find something cute to do with the wall…enter chalkboard wall!! Here are some Pinsperations…..

Here is how it looked before I did anything to it.
I started our by repairing the hole with a patch kit from Lowes. This is a REALLY easy thing to do….don’t be intimidated by a little drywall repair!! Once it was dry, sanded, and smooth I applied my first coat of chalkboard paint. Since this was a small area and chalkboard paint can be a bit pricey, I just bought a quart and it was MORE than enough!! Here is after 1 or 2 coats….it’s been a while so I am exactly sure what stage this was.
I gave it about 4 coats of paint all together to get good coverage. They I put The Hubs to work framing it out with molding. Once again, I don’t do power tools that can cut off limbs so this was his job!! I painted it with a couple of coats of white semi-gloss paint before he hung it. Then I just had to fill the holes and do some touch-up painting. It is just easier to paint molding on a saw horse than on a wall.
Here it is all finished….
I have had it for a few years now and I still love it!
Have a Great One All!
