The weather here this weekend has been glorious with temps in the 60’s and blue skies. The perfect weather to finish up my fall decorations on the front and back porches. There are TONS of Pinsperations on Pinterest and here are just few that really spoke to me…

Doesn’t it just make you want to snuggle up in a cozy sweater and drink a pumpkin spice something or other!! The first picture reminded me how much I love my mums plopped in my urns and sent me on the hunt for a little lantern to add to the front porch.
I am crazy about the HUGE welcome sign in the 2nd picture and I still might add one to my porch. I found a cute one that is very similar at the Iron Dog Salvage Store that I am probably going to have to go back and get tomorrow if it’s still there.
I like how they trimmed the cornstalks so short in the third picture. I have looked everywhere for cornstalks, but I think it is just too early for them…although I have seen some still in the field that look pretty brown. I might have to send The Hubs on a covert operation one evening to poach a few….is that illegal….I hope he doesn’t get shot by an angry farmer!! YIKES!!! That is just the chance you take in decorating…not really but it makes me sound so committed to the cause though!! LOL
The ladder in the fourth picture inspired me and I found one at the above mentioned Salvage Store so I snatched it up. It is going to be great throughout the year for decorating.
I included the fifth picture because the color of the door is so similar to mine. I love the color of my door, but let’s be honest…it doesn’t exactly scream “Fall!” I think this pic shows that any color can work with the right accessories.
The sixth and seventh pictures are included because I long to add a bench to our front porch. What you must realize is that when I say “front porch” I use that term very loosely. What we really have is more of a stoop at best. Our driveway curves around the front of our house so there really isn’t a place for a porch. The best I can do is take advantage of the corners on either side of the garage door and the space just to the right side of the front door to decorate. We do have a section of white picket fence along the edge of the driveway leading up to the garage door where I think I could pull off a bench since we never park I the garage. The only bad part is that it would be totally exposed to the weather which could make accessorizing it tricky. Are the burlap pillows in the pics above not just too cute though???!!!??? I figure this is the time of the year to find one on the cheap since most stores are currently clearing out all of their outdoor furniture….I guess we’ll have to wait and see if I find anything I like for a huge bargain! If it is meant to be it will be.
So without further ado…(is that a word?)…here is my “front porch” all dressed up for fall.
I leaned the ladder in the corner next to the garage door and added another burlap banner and a colorful wreath from Marshall’s. The urn and the wire pumpkin have been around here for several years. The small mums were not in cute pots when I got them so I just went to Hobby Lobby and Michael’s and bought inexpensive bushel baskets for 50% off to put them in. I found the white and heirloom pumpkins at the local Rural King on the cheap. The grape vine tree has also been around for a LONG time. I have certainly gotten my money out of that little investment! I just dress it up a bit for each season and change the lights as they burn out. Can someone explain to me why Hobby Lobby does not carry the twinkle lights with the brown cord….seriously….they have EVERYTHING else under the sun but not that! Ugh…Sorry that has been bugging me for a while though….had to get it off my chest!! LOL The little black pumpkin lantern also came from Marshall’s. They always have such great seasonal stuff.
I also gave the back porch a little love….it is actually a porch in the true meaning of the term. Here is how it turned out…
The hay bale looked a little bare in the first pic so I went out front and took one the mums from there and added it here….looks better…don’t you agree?? The little rustic pumpkins came from Michael’s. They were 40% off and then the nice cashier also gave me another coupon since I didn’t have my school ID with me for my teacher’s discount…gotta love a friendly cashier!! The bale of hay came from Hobby Lobby….I know what you’re thinking…they have hay but not lights with a brown cord…..I know…right!!??!! The lantern came from Walmart (The Store of Last Resort). I am hopping to add some corn stalks to the shepherds hook holding the lantern if I ever find any…..and if I still care about it by the time I find them.
Let’s not forget the opposite corner of the back porch where I put my pumpkin topiary thingy…still loving that as well!!
So…are you as ready for fall as I am? Have you started decorating yet?
Have a Great One All!
