Hi….There is nothing like posting pics of yourself on internet to give you a wake-up call about your weight! I knew things were not in a great place with my bathroom scale (I think it lies….maybe a little) but the more pics I posted the more it became clear that it was time to do something about it. #thestruggleisreal The Hubs and I did Weight Watchers several years ago and had great success. Between us we lost about 100 pounds. Sadly….we have not kept that weight off and we are right back where we started. It’s true…..we are Weight Watchers drop outs!! However, our fat story does not end there! We have decided to get back on the wagon and start Weight Watchers again….YAY!!
Last night was suppose to be our first meeting but when we got there we found out it had been canceled because the church where our meetings are held was having Vacation Bible School. Seriously…..I am a fat girl in need of a meeting people…..can’t VBS just wait??!!?? Just kidding….I would never come between children and Jesus……and I am sort of hoping he gives the strength to do this again…UGH!! We were not to be derailed from our original plan though so we started tracking today anyway. We both signed up online so we would have access to their online tools so we didn’t really need a meeting to get started. We are both excited to get back at it and thrilled that our favorite leader is still running the local meetings. She starts every meeting by holding up an old pic of herself and saying “Hi, my name is Dana is this is me 50 fluffy pounds ago” (with her adorable southern accent). Gotta love a gal with a sense of humor!!
So….with that being said my Wednesday posts will now be Weigh-In Wednesdays. Since my meetings are on Tuesday evenings and Weigh-In Wednesday just rolls off the tongue so well I will be sharing our progress with you each Wednesday. NO….I am not going to admit what the “Big Number” is because I am just not ready to “own” that quite yet, but I am willing to tell you how much we lose each week and what we struggle with or have success with that week. It is my greatest hope that others dealing with the weight struggle will find some comfort in my posts and maybe some inspiration. I always say that being fat is not the worse thing that can happen to a person but it still sort of sucks…..so let the journey begin! Just to be upfront…I am not being compensated in any way by Weight Watchers and I am sure there are tons of other programs that work well…this is just the one that seems to work for us and fits our lifestyle the best. You can find more info about their programs here…..
Is weight a struggle for you and what have you done that has worked for you?
Have a Great One All!
