Happy New Year all!  I hope you are reflecting on a great 2015 and looking forward to an even better 2016.  I have been one to make resolutions every year only to see them fall by the wayside leaving me feeling bad about myself.  If I want to feel bad about myself I can just go to the mall and stand in the 3-way mirror in any of the dressing rooms under that universally awful lighting…that usually does the trick!!   LOL  I feel like we almost set ourselves up for failure by making resolutions.  I mean, I know there are plenty of you that are probably New Years Resolutions Success Stories….People Magazine highlights several this time each year, and I congratulate each and every one of you for that.  Needless to say though, People Magazine is not likely to be calling me anytime soon for a Resolution Success Story interview!!

This year I have decided to take a different approach….inspired by Pinterest of course!  This year I am going to create a Memory Jar for 2016 and fill it with slips of paper about all of the great things that happen throughout the year.  I love that this puts the emphasis on all of the good things that happen rather than on another failed resolution.  I think most of us have more good things than bad in our lives to celebrate, but we sometimes give too much of our energy to the bad things which minimizes all the blessings….how sad!!!  In fact….I think I will call my jar a Blessings Jar.

Here are a few on my Pinsperations…

| One | Two | Three |

This year I challenge all of you to do something to celebrate your blessings throughout the year and take the focus off of your shortcomings.  Next year on New Years Eve I hope to be reading a jar stuffed full of my own blessings from 2016.

Here is how my Blessing Jar turned out….

Nothing fancy….just a jar and a couple of tags I picked up in the Dollar Spot Section at Target.  Please tell me I am not the only person that gets sucked in by that section every time I walk in there and end up with a few “treasures” I can’t possibly live without!!!  Let me know if you decide to jump on the Blessings Jar train and send me a pic of your jar.  I am sure it will be much more creative than mine!!

Have a Great One All!

Patty  🙂
