Blue Apron

Blue Apron Review

Hi,

For Christmas the Hubs and I received a box from Blue Apron from my Sister-In-Law and her family….what a fun idea!  She figured that since I am such of fan of the clothing subscription plans that I would probably like this too…she was so right!!!

The box arrived with literally everything I need to prepare 3 delicious meals.  In this case it was Salmon & Lemon Bucatini, Spiced Roast Chicken & Collard Greens, and Italian Meatball Soup.  It included all of the meat, dry ingredients, spices, produce and dairy.  In addition to all of the ingredients there is also a very details set on instructions….with pictures!!!  (more…)

Dia & Co. Review #1

Hi,

You already know I am a fan of Stitch Fix but at times I have had trouble with fit.  I found Dia & Co. on Pinterest and it is the same idea as Stitch Fix but they specialize in larger sizes so I thought I would give them a try.  Most everything I wear is in standard sizes, but on occasion I can also wear smaller sizes in some plus size fits.  When I first signed up the initial process was much shorter than Stitch Fix.  That might seem like a good thing, but Stitch Fix was really thorough so they get a clear picture of what your style is.  I was a little nervous about my Dia & Co box because they didn’t ask very many questions about my style.  They did include a place for me to add my website though so my stylist was able to go see what I wear and I think that helped a lot.  She even mentioned a couple of things that she saw me wearing that would be good with some of the things she sent.  So….here is what she sent…. 12 Days of Christmas Decorations Day #10: Windows and Door Frames

Christmas Greenery

Hi,

A big part of my Christmas decorating each year involves my interior window and door frames.  While I was at the mall more than 10 years ago the huge swags that were above all of the walkways inspired me and I knew I wanted to add some greenery swags to my doors and windows, but on a much smaller scale of course.  What started as greenery quickly evolved to ribbon, bows, and this year the addition of burlap.  I am considering adding a few gingerbread men next year if I get them baked in time.  The window and door swags are one of my favorite things about my decorations and the part I miss the most when I take it down each New Years Day. 12 Days of Christmas Decorations Day #9: How I Decorate my Christmas Tree

How I Decorate My Tree

While wasting time and probably trying to avoid grading papers….I mean, doing important research on Pinterest one day I came across several posts on how to decorate a Christmas tree.  Initially I thought….seriously do we really need a tutorial for that?  Then I got to thinking about all of the elaborate and beautiful trees I see on decorator sites and realized that maybe a tutorial might not be a bad thing.  I have always loved my tree, but felt like it definitely had room for improvement so why not have a look.  #firstworldproblems

Well….let me tell you….these tutorials took my tree to the next level and they were so easy!!  I mean….look at these trees! (more…)

12 Days of Christmas Decorations Day #8: Laser Cut Snowflakes

Laser Cut Snowflake Ornaments

Hi,

I saw a pin about this type of ornament and decided….what the heck…..I’ll give them a shot.  At the link under the picture she stained hers and I wanted some more white pops for the tree so spray paint was the way to go for me.  Stained is also really pretty though.

These really could not have been easier and the unusually warm weather we have been having made it even easier to get them done outside.  I found the ornaments on sale at Michael’s for about $1 each.  I went with just snowflakes but they had lots of shapes and sizes to choose from….probably not so much now though. I love how much detail they have for such a low price.
