Happy Halloween everyone!!! I hope yours is full of more treats than tricks!! I got these great fringe booties the other day from The Mint Julep and they are a big treat. I loved them for the minute they came out of the box, but after wearing them I am even more in love!!! I cannot believe how comfortable they are!!! I generally just expect for shoes to be at least a little uncomfortable the first time they are worn…especially boots…..but not these! They are adorable and crazy comfortable…even after an entire day at school and then a Friday Night Football Game!! They run small, so order up by 1/2 a size if you pick them up!!
I paired them with a boyfriend cardigan from Target layered with a lace trimmed tank, Wit and Wisdom Jeans and my Stitch Fix scarf.
I picked up this Faux Shearling Vest at Target a few weeks ago. I had my eye on a few online, but they were all more than I was willing to spend. While I really like this trend, I know I won’t have very many opportunities to wear it so I didn’t want to spend too much on it. This one was only around $35 so even if I only wear it a few times my per wear cost will still be pretty reasonable. (more…)
All things with fringe seem to be on trend this season. This make me happy because what’s not to love about fringe!!??!! I picked up this scarf over the summer during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for a steal. It is still available and in even more colors now for just $20.
I styled it with a pair of my Wit and Wisdom Jeans, a top I picked up from Loft and my light brown riding boots. These are my all time favorite boots! The top is only $34.50 and then 40% off right now with code SWEET. It is also available in burgundy. Comfortable, casual and easy for a casual day at work or a weekend!
So……I caught myself Googling “How to Build an Ark” today……seriously I think it poured down rain here for about 24 hours straight. The squirrels in my yard probably have wrinkly paws from all of the rain. Luckily it stopped when it did….the animals were starting to line up 2 by 2….not a good sign!!! (more…)
Plaid and Fall go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly…..they just belong together! I found this super cute plaid dress at The Mint Julep. It is a great online boutique that I have mentioned before and will certainly mention again…especially since a really cute pair of fringe booties arrived in the same delivery as this dress!!
I met the Hubs at one of my favorite places to shop one evening last week for dinner and of course I arrived early to give me some time to shop before dinner. As fate would have it Loft had 50% off everything that day….Yahoo!!! Sometimes the Shopping Gods call to me like that!! Well…never one to let a good sale pass me by I stopped in and found this cute leopard print sweater/sweatshirt.
These shoes appeared as if by magic on my Facebook page a couple of weeks ago and called out to me to buy them. Who am I to argue when shoes are begging me to buy them!!?? It was an add from Nordstrom, so needless to say they were no bargain but I just love them so much that I feel like they are worth it….or at least that is how I am trying to rationalize the purchase!
I mean seriously….are they not just adordable!!!???!!!(more…)
I think the leaves in my neck of the woods have reached their peak and everything is so beautiful. Sadly it rained pretty hard tonight so I am sure that most of the leaves will be on the ground in the morning. The only bad thing about fall is how quickly the leaves fall once they change color….I always wish they could hang on another week or so.
Today I am styling a poncho. They seem to be making a comeback this fall in a big way. I am seeing them everywhere and I hope to pick 1 or 2 more that I can wear through most of winter on warmer days. They are perfect for fall because they keep you plenty warm, but not always as great in the winter here because you can’t wear a coat with a poncho and they are often not quite enough for those bitter cold winter days. Here are some of my Pinsperations…
I got this one at the website Monday Dress. I have mentioned that site before and had great experiences with them so far after having shopped there 2 or 3 times. I love the windowpane print and that the sides button so it is less drafty than most and has a little more shape. I added a great big shawl pin that I found at Hobby Lobby to keep it closed since it didn’t have a button on the front. I paired it with my Wit and Wisdom Jeans, a long sleeved white button down and my black riding boots. It was perfect for a chilly night on the sidelines.
It looks like the poncho is sold out, but I gave you a link to a vest with a very similar look.
Quack Quack…Duck Shoes are back!! I saw these adorable duck shoes on the Mint Julep website and couldn’t order them fast enough. These were popular when I was younger and I am so happy they are making a come back. I considered buying a pair at LL Bean but they were so much less expensive at Mint Julep. I have no intention of hiking in the woods or going hunting so there was no need for LL Bean quality on these for me. (more…)
Sadly I have not yet picked up cute shoes like these, but my navy flats from Old Navy worked just fine. I also mixed it up a bit and tried it out with my black riding boots as well. Here is how my version turned out…
